Laura Buckles
Hi, I'm Laura...
I’m an actor and producer who tells stories about warm, witty characters who show up when it matters, usually with heart, humor, and just enough awkwardness to feel true.
I learned the power of storytelling early, growing up in Pakistan, where film and television often bridged cultures. The stories might take place in different countries or different times, but what everyone connected to were the characters, what they wanted, and what they were willing to risk. Watching people recognize themselves and each other through those stories left a lasting impression, and it’s what inspired me to join the courageous creators who put themselves out there to help the world connect, love, and understand.
As an actor, I’m known for bringing grounded warmth, emotional intelligence, and a sly sense of humor to characters who often sit at the center of the story. From films like Isolation Inn, Broken, and 8 Found Dead to my work on stage and in improv, I’m drawn to roles that balance strength with vulnerability and let humor live right alongside heart.
Alongside acting, I’m also an award-winning producer and writer who enjoys building the kinds of worlds I want to step into. Sometimes the fastest way to get to the roles you love is to help create them, and I have a particular soft spot for projects that make people feel seen, connected, and a little more open than they were before.
When I’m not on set or in development, I work as a business and life coach for creatives, helping actors and artists build careers that feel both sustainable and aligned. I love to travel, read, and disappear into podcasts about storytelling, the entertainment industry, entrepreneurial success, positive psychology, and hypnotherapy. I’m a proud research nerd with a deep fascination for neuroscience and how the brain works and how to use that knowledge (for good not evil, I joke).
I also have a deep love for comedy and improvisation, which means I’m happiest when I’m listening closely, playing in the moment, and letting unexpected, human beats land. (Yes, this does mean I’m very fun at table reads.)
At the end of the day, I tell stories that help people recognize themselves, each other, and the shared humanity in between.
